Philadelphia Fringe Festival
September 5th – 29th
Today, the annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival features more than 1,000 performances by national, international and Philadelphia-based artists of all disciplines. For one month, these innovators fill the public and private spaces across the city with nonstop, wild creativity for audiences of more than 40,000.
Included in the festival are hundreds of independently produced performances and events, work presented by partnering Festival Hubs and producers, and a slate of programs curated by FringeArts. In the true spirit of the international “Fringe” movement, there is no limit to the ways that artists and audiences can participate in and experience the festival.

Each year, thousands line the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for Philly’s energetic Puerto Rican Day Parade featuring 1,500 participants including marching bands, floats, motorcades of antique cars and decorated vehicles, vibrant dance performances, baton units, Latino music, drill teams, and lots of waving La Monoestrellada flags, under the theme, “A Celebration of Latino Culture in the Heart of the City.” Along the parade route up the Parkway (between 18th Street and the Philadelphia Museum of Art), expect resource booths, community organizations, merch vendors, craft sellers and lots of tasty food.

One of the most unmistakable voices in music, Sting can belt about Roxanne or draw you in with Every Breath You Take. This tour features Sting on vocals and bass alongside guitarist and longtime collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas (who’s worked with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers). Expect both solo hits and songs from The Police’s catalog.
